Photo Gallery of WH40K Space Marines from my collection

I hadn't really planned to collect Space Marines, but then I came across
a heavily converted Legion of the Damned army at a local hobby store.
I think this was the first painted army I ever purchased.  I've expanded it over time.

One expansion was Golden Demon 1997, WH40K Best Squad, 2nd Place, painted by Bryan Shaw
as seen in White Dwarf 212, US Edition, but I asked him to rebase the unit to match my existing army.
The unit didn't really follow current codex standards, so I split it up, much like the rest of the army.
Minis from that unit will be referenced as "Silver Demon Squad Winner" in the descriptions below.

The unit selections below aren't necessarily the only combination possible, nor the best,
 but I tried to group my collection into valid 5th Edition Codex units that match the minis,
as well as spread them across the force organization chart for maximum coverage.

The elites choices are a bit heavy, and I could change the Legion of the Damned Squad
into a Tactical Squad to optimize the most minis into a single standard detachment,
but forgoing an actual codex Legion of the Damned Squad seems almost criminal.
"Tactical Squad 2" is pretty much a place holder for models not assigned to other units.

HQ

HQ: Space Marine Chapter Master

Rogue Trader era Lord Macragge (Ultramarines Commander) vignette painted in Legion of the Damned scheme.

Options include replace bolt pistol with plasma pistol and replace chainsword with relic blade; converted from Space Marine Chaplain on Bike and painted in Legion of the Damned style by Anne Foerster.

Options: hunter-killer missile, and the sculpting can probably be considered extra armor. I'm pretty sure this is a Joseph Orteza conversion that I purchased via eBay, but I can't seem to find anything in my archives to confirm it.

Elites: Dreadnought

Options selected: replace storm Bolter with heavy flamer, and replace multi-melta with plasma cannon. Plastic model with minor conversions and Legion of the damned paint scheme; purchased via eBay.

Elites: Ironclad or Venerable Dreadnought

2nd edition era metal model converted with two close combat weapons. The left weapon has the standard storm bolter, but the right weapon has a plasma gun. I think the center of the sarcophagus was ground down and customized. The Ironclad Dreadnought is close combat focused, which is probably a good choice for this model, counting the right arm as seismic hammer with meltagun. Another possible choice would be Venerable Dreadnought with plasma cannon.

Elites: Techmarine

Options: Replace boltgun with a plasma pistol. Converted from Space Marine Techmarine with Bolt Pistol model and painted in Legion of the Damned style by Anne Foerster.

Elites: Legion of the Damned Squad - Sergeant Centurius

Options: Replace bolter with chainsword; still has bolt pistol. This is the limited edition model, and it would seem wrong for Sgt Centurious to lead any other squad from the Codex; eBay purchase (and probably one of the best paint schemes I've come across for this mini).

Elites: Legion of the Damned Squad - Bolter with Banner

Since I have two banners in the army, the codex Legion o the Damned Squad seemed like the best unit to carry the second banner; part of Silver Demon Squad Winner.

Not modeled with any options, but heavily converted and painted in Legion of the Damned scheme by Micah Fitzpatrick. The side doors are modified Ultramarine Land Raider doors from Forge World. The front hatch opens, and the inside is detailed. The hurricane bolters are mounted towards the front, because that seemed less ludicrous than having side doors open in front of the weapons; they do swivel.

Super Heavy Walker Detachment: Warhound Scout Titan

Armort cast model, slightly converted (the spikes were drilled out). Current weapon equivalents would probably be Vulcan Mega-Bolter and Plasma Blastgun.
